EYFS Roadshow coming to Hindley Green We're pleased to share that Hindley Green Community Primary School will be hosting the Early Excellence EYFS Roadshow 2026/27 on Thursday 11 February 2027. This immersive CPD experience is designed to inspire EYFS teams, with practical ideas, strategic guidance and opportunities to explore an Early Excellence model classroom. The roadshow includes: Morning: Evaluative session for Headteachers and Senior Leaders Afternoon: Development session for EYFS Leads Twilight: Ideas and inspiration for EYFS Teams Attendees will have the opportunity to explore effective learning environments, consider how provision supports the curriculum, network with colleagues and gain practical ideas to enhance EYFS practice. Reception Intake 2027: Applications Opening Soon Is your child due to start Reception in September 2027? Applications for Reception places across Wigan will open on Wednesday 30 September 2026. Parents and carers are encouraged to apply online through Wigan Council's website. If you have not used the admissions portal before, you will need to register and create an account before applying. Important information: Applications must be submitted by 15 January 2027. Parents and carers must apply through the local authority they pay council tax to, even if they wish to apply for schools in another area. Two forms of proof of your permanent address are required when applying. These can be uploaded to the online portal or emailed to schoolplaces@wigan.gov.uk. Applications received after the closing date will be classed as late.
